Thank you for giving me the opportunity to connect with you on a personal level. I have chosen the name Warrior mom for various reasons. In the past 10 years I have pushed to be the person I am today and I am very proud of whom I have become!
10 years ago my life was changed dramatically. I was in a wheelchair, slept in a hospital bed, had over a dozen medications and was depressed. I wasn’t sure where life was going to take me or what was to become of me. May 1st 2008 I was involved in a motorcycle accident. I was the passenger on the bike and was thrown 25 feet at 40 miles an hour. Broken back, several broken ribs and broken hands was not ideal at 21. With a less then 6 % chance of living, my surgeon was able to put me back together again with rods and screws. I believe God was watching and guiding me through the whole time. The power of prayer from close family and friends I believe made an impact in my recovery. After my many therapies and day in and day out of medications, i was mentally DONE with it all. Done feeling sorry for my self, done taking medication, done having family and friends feeling sorry for me. It was up to me to PUSH to walk, run, and live a normal life again. I kept up my therapy, joined a gym and about one year later I was close to my old self. The will power to PUSH through all my insecurities and not to stay in a wheelchair for the rest of my life was a constant struggle, but I DID IT!
2 years later I returned to school. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to be in the medical field so I took a short path to becoming a medical assistant first. I loved being a MA. My first job was working at family practice. Even though it was a nice place, it was just too slow of speed and I was looking for more action. Next, I began working at an urgent care. I LOVED it! It was fast paced, the owners are amazing and are still great friends till this day and I worked my way up to a manager position.
In the Spring of 2014 my husband joined the military. We spent almost 4 years in Colorado Springs, CO and moved back home to be with our family in 2017. CO is definitely an amazing place to experience!!! (I will tell you all about the military life in a another blog post)
After so many life changes I am happily married, I have two beautiful children and it has been an adventure. I learned so many things along the way about myself and how being a wife and mother has changed me. I am ready to show you the WARRIOR in me. My dream is not only make a difference in my life but to make a difference in others.
