Fall Crockpot Recipes

I love everything that fall has to offer. The crisp cool air, the leaves changing colors, visiting cider mills, picking apples and pumpkins, halloween is right around the corner and the food! I don’t necessary have a “fall type favorite food” but there are some foods and drinks I love to consume around this time of the year. 

 

Crock Pot Fall Cider

I am a lover of apple cider and I enjoy having this brewing in my home during the autumn season. My house smells absolutely amazing all day. Now, this isn’t just your plain apple cider, It is flavored with apples, pears, oranges and mulling spices. 

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups of water
  • 5 apples ( all different types)
  • 1 pear
  • 1 orange sliced or 2 cuties
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tablespoons mulling spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, to your liking)
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions:

  1. Core and slice the apples into thin slices
  2. Cut oranges into thin slices
  3. Combine all ingredients in the crockpot
  4. Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours
  5. Once cooked, strain all fruit, cinnamon sticks, spices and discard
  6. Serve Warm

Crock Pot Roast

Who doesn’t love a good hearty homemade meal? This is a dish that I love to make on a cool fall day or in the winter. I stay inside, prep, toss it all in my crockpot and while its cooking It fills my house with a warm homey aroma. For those who don’t cook often and need a meal for rather large size family, this is a perfect solution. 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 bottom round roast 
  • 1 onion
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 5 large potatoes cut into slices
  • 1 pound baby carrots
  • 2 cups of chopped celery
  • (1) 32 oz of beef broth
  • 1 packet of dry onion soup mix
  • 2 cups of water

Directions

  1. Season the roast with salt, pepper and onion packet
  2. Slice up onions and put on the bottom of the crockpot
  3. Place roast on onions in the crockpot
  4. Add in your potatoes, carrots, celery and water
  5. Cover crockpot and put on low for 8 hours or high for 4-6
  6. Serve and enjoy

Crock Pot Chicken Noodle Soup

Nothing beats a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup on a chilly fall day. Kick your feet up and warm up your stomach with this incredibly easy dinner everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of boneless chicken breast
  • 1 pound baby carrots
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 medium size onion (chopped)
  • 8 cups of chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon of parsley
  • Black pepper and salt to taste
  • 1 pound of wide egg noodles

Directions

  1. Place uncooked chicken into the crock pot
  2. Top chicken with all spices
  3. Toss in celery, carrots and onion
  4. Pour chicken broth over chicken and vegetables
  5. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high 4-6 hours
  6. Take chicken out and shred or cut into cubes. (I do cubes, its easier for my children to eat)
  7. Place chicken back in the crock pot and add in the egg noodles
  8. Let egg noodles sit for 10-15 minutes or until tender
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!
